Frank Pietrangelo is best remembered for an incredible save against the Devils in game six of the first round of the 1991 Stanley Cup playoffs, sending the series to a game seven which the Pens would win 4-0. Ultimately they’d go on to win their first Stanley Cup, but certainly not without Pietrangelo’s miraculous save.

Before he became a Pittsburgh hockey legend, Pietrangelo played eight games in this jersey, accruing four wins and four losses in the 1989-90 season. He’d see an increased role in following seasons, backing up Tom Barrasso before becoming one of four goalies on the team in 1992 and consequently being traded to the Hartford Whalers.

This jersey shows moderate wear in the form of stick and puck marks, small un-repaired holes, some board burns, a slice through one of the numbers, and corroded fight strap snaps. It is matched to several photos and cards from that time.
