1989-90 Phil Bourque Game Worn Jersey (Set 3)

Worn at the tail end of the 1989-90 season, the ollllll’ 29’er scored a handful of points (and PIMS/fights) in this beauty, and even bowled over Patrick Roy for a disallowed goal. Lots of great wear and repairs, and possibly a blood stain. The 1989-90 NHL All Star Game patch, held in Pittsburgh, is sewn to the left shoulder. The jersey is photomatched to a March 2nd, 1990 game against the Devils.

Bourque was signed as a free agent with the Penguins in 1982, seeing game action by 1983 and ultimately winning two Stanley Cups in ‘91 and ‘92. Bourque-y enjoyed a twelve year NHL career, totaling 199 points in 477 games. He’s been a color analyst for the Pens since the 2006-07 season.

“What do you say we take this out on the river, and party all summer!!!”

Bourquey mixes it up

With the Penguins trailing 4-2 in the third, Bourque scraps with Vancouver’s Garth Butcher to try and get something going. The Pens would rally with a goal from John Cullen but ultimately fall 5-3.
