2015-16 Phil Kessel Game worn jersey (Set 2)
On July 1st, 2015, the Pens traded Scott Harrington, Kasperi Kapanen, Nick Spaling, and a first and third round 2016 pick for the man, the myth, the legend, Phil “The Thrill” Kessel. Phil’s elite scoring touch and enigmatic personality soon made him a fan favorite, and propelled the Penguins offense to a new level with his deadly wrist shot. This offensive spark was just what the Penguins needed to push them over the top and deliver two consecutive Stanley Cup Championships in 2015-16 and ‘16-17.
This jersey was worn during the second half of the season, features large repairs on the right arm, and is photo-matched several times. In fourteen games, Phil netted five goals and seven assists including two multi-goal efforts wearing this jersey. After being traded to Arizona in 2019, he would go on to win a third Stanley Cup with the Las Vegas Golden Knights in 2023.
